Log #1: Establishing an art style and setting the tone


I am starting this devlog by giving you a sense of what kind of world I want to create. An important aspect of the game will be an old grimoire handed down to you from your great grandfather, where he describes various supernatural ailments that plague the people of this village. In the grimoire he also explains how to treat these ailments, although the player will find more modern versions of his suggested treatments.

For example, spectral cacophony has traditionally been averted by confronting the ghosts in a terrifying clash of minds. Luckily, the same day the player first encounters the affliction, a family therapist sets up shop in the village, and is open to taking on these... unique clients.

My main focus with this devlog will be world building, and giving readers an idea of the feeling of the game. I will update shortly with a more in-depth description of the life in the village and the resulting game loop.
